BEER-BRAISED BEEF


Serves 4
3 hours 45 minutes
230 kcal per serving


Ingredients
  • 1 kg steak, cut into 4 cm pieces
  • Wheat flour, seasoned with salt and pepper
  • Olive oil, for frying
  • 4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 500 ml beef stock
  • 375 ml beer
  • 2 yellow onions, chopped
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 55 g stuffed or pitted green olives, sliced

Method
  1. Turn the meat lightly in the flour.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan, add the garlic and brown the meat over high heat.
  3. Add the broth, beer, onion and bay leaves, season with salt and pepper and bring to a boil.
  4. Lower the heat, then simmer gently covered for 2,5 hours. Stir a few times during this period.
  5. Remove the lid and simmer for another 30 minutes.
  6. Stir, then stir in the olives. Season with salt and pepper if needed.
  7. Serve with rice or mashed potatoes.
